1. Award recipients

Awarded to outstanding activities in the areas of “Protecting oneself,” “Protecting customers,” and “Protecting the community,” as approved by the Screening Committee.

(Statement of purpose)

The “Disaster Prevention and Mitigation x Sustainability Awards” are given by the Association of Sustainable Technology for Disaster Mitigation to recognize the achievements and results of efforts in disaster prevention and mitigation toward the realization of a truly sustainable society that is safer and more secure, based on a newly established evaluation method.

The award is given to local governments, organizations, corporations, and individuals who are engaged in various practices related to disaster prevention and mitigation, and their achievements are comprehensively and objectively evaluated in terms of resilience, sustainability, and contribution to the SDGs.

By widely publicizing the contents and results of this award, we hope that it will serve as a foundation for people around the world to move forward toward the realization of a better future.

Policy on basic evaluation criteria

Sustainable Category

The city will be evaluated based on the following nine evaluation indicators.

(1) Three indicators for disaster prevention and mitigation: “Protecting infrastructure,” “Protecting human life,” and “Enhancing information

2) Indicators for the Future City Model SDGs: “Environmental Adaptation,” “Cooperation,” and “Response to Next Generation

3) Degree of social contribution or diffusion: “Global,” “Japan,” and “Local

The Company will be evaluated based on the following nine evaluation indicators.

In addition to the three outstanding activities advocated by the Office for National Spatial Resilience, Cabinet Secretariat, the following three activities are also included.

In addition to the three excellent activities advocated by the Office for the Promotion of National Spatial Resilience, Cabinet Office, Japan, and the “SDGs Future City and Local Government SDGs Model Project” of the Secretariat for Regional Development Promotion, Cabinet Office, Japan, and the “Disaster Reduction Compact Model City” of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the basic framework of the Future City concept and the international goals of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Reduction advocated by the United Nations Disaster Reduction Agency (UNDRR) are
