Combating Natural Disasters with Science and Technology
The Mega-Development Concept

Natural disasters, which are becoming more and more severe every year, are a manifestation of major environmental changes on the earth. We are entering an era in which typhoons and torrential rains, the largest in recorded history, frequently hit this country every year.
Efforts to prevent and mitigate disasters have begun in many places, but at the current pace, we will not be able to keep up with the massive increase in disasters even after 100 years.
This is because all the disaster countermeasures and plans that have been developed up to now are based on the assumption of existing disasters, and are not fully effective when it comes to unexpected disasters. We hereby propose a “megadevelopment concept” for the next phase.
